Mixed media odds and ends: Slaughter County Vixens and Peninsula Dance

February 26th, 2010 at Fri, 26th, 2010 at 6:25 am by Jennifer Morris

Here are a few odds and ends from this week’s stories, out in print today. The first I wanted to share is a beautiful shot from photographer Kent Soule, who sent this of two of the Peninsula Dance Theatre’s company members:

The company will debut original choreography at the Admiral this weekend. For tickets, click here. (Read what they had to say to What’s Up here.)

Next comes a little video treat from the Slaughter County Roller Vixens. Apparently, not only can they skate, but they can dance, too. Here’s a clip of them entertaining the crowd during their own half-time with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” on Oct. 30, 2009. You’ll find plenty of other videos from their bouts online, but you can see the action live this weekend at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds during the three-day Wild West Showdown Invitational. (What’s Up had a front row seat to one of their practices this week, check it out here.)
